"My story starts when I saw Taylor post on her Facebook that Vevo was looking for her biggest fans to meet her and be apart of her Vevo certified video. I was nervous and wasn’t going to do it at first, but my friends convinced me that I had to do it and they were sure I was going to win! So I filled out the questionnaire and submitted the video I had done on my Youtube channel of when I remixed Maroon 5’s song Payphone and I had a bunch of Taylor stuff in the song and video || http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH51LNhA8Kc || To my surprise … I won!
There were five other huge Taylor fans there that won also who were all super sweet and amazing people! They kept us in a waiting room as to not ruin the surprise of seeing Taylor for the first time. They brought us all to the set and Taylor walked out very casually and instantly hugged us all and was greeting us. A huge thing for me was that she already knew my name and the video I submitted before I even had a chance to introduce myself. I’ll never forget her saying "Oh my God Nikki! Hi! You’re so talented, I loved your video!"
After all of the introductions and saying hi, we filmed the parts with us giving her the awards which you could tell she was really grateful for. She then surprised us all by saying she was going to fly all of us plus one other person we each wanted to bring to the very first show of the Red tour in Omaha, Nebraska! || http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VolP4QCLYao ||
After all of that was done, we got some time to just talk with her and ask her questions. This was right after she had just released We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and had announced the Red album, so we were asking her a lot about what the tour was going to be like and how the filming of the We Are Never video was going. She was just unbelievably sweet and actually really took the time to listen and just talk with us like we had all been friends forever! She did her Shakira impression from her SNL episode for us which was just hilarious! Sometime during all of this her Mom came up and visited, who also knew all of our names without us having to introduce ourselves and gave us a gift bag full of Taylor stuff like a T-Shirt and greeting cards and her perfume!
She then said she had a Target commercial shoot to get to so she had to go. But above all, we were all just so happy that this person we all loved so much was so nice and funny and just everything you’d think she would be.
I think it was 6 months or so after that when we were flown out for the first show of the Red tour and had the time of our lives being able to be in the pit that close for the very first show. It was there that I met her incredible bass player, Amos Heller, and quickly became friends with him! Now we make videos and songs together whenever they’re in town in LA.
That’s always a good story to think about and remember!”
“I would like to thank you Taylor Swift for telling me good luck …she’s one of the most beautiful people to walk on this planet.”—Torin Yater-Wallace on Taylor Swift wishing him luck at the Winter Olympics. (x)
Taylor Swift’s “Red” didn’t win a thing at the Grammys or the Country Music Assn. Awards. But the album accomplishes something this week that makes up for those slights: It tops the 4 million mark in U.S. sales. All four of Swift’s studio albums have reached that threshold. Swift’s eponymous debut…
